This ranking takes in consideration the team's results through their ranking on the four preceding years for :
- Annual Events
- Rugby Europe European Championships Series, all divisions
- World Rugby World Series and Challenger Series
- Quadrennial Events
- Olympic Games and its European or World Qualifying Events involving European teams
- World Rugby Sevens Rugby World Cup
It rewards the activity of European teams on European Competition, but also on all World Competitions organized by World Rugby and the Olympic Games.
The rankings will be updated at the conclusion of each year.
The current ranking has been taken from seasons 2023 and 2024 only.
